Reaching Out to you!

Come 14th May 2013, & my company which is into provision of Recruitment Advisory Services, will complete 6 years.


The timeline feels more like 6 days rather than 6 years [In recruitment, time literally has no concept. Its over before one begins work] I don't look back to reflect on the learnings because I don't have to. They're as fresh as yesterday. I remember how & why I started a company. The fact that I had just turned 24 from 23 a month before I started, way back in 2007, didn't even cross my mind. I knew some things surer than the air around me that I breathed. 

• That not only was I was really, really good at recruiting but I loved everything about it, deeply & passionately.
• That I actually took an active interest in the lives & careers of people who came to me for jobs.
• That my clients were an extension of myself, not just a paycheck & appreciative recommendations.

 Many amongst us select our careers long before we even know what that career entails. Some of us get lucky & end up in careers we have the skills for & love going to work everyday.

But what about the poor sods who have no clue why they're doing what they're doing..or as a matter of fact..even no idea of what they're doing itself?

Guidance, Counselling, Q & A's, competency development help & hectic brainstorming! Very, very necessary & important for anyone/everyone who isn't in the career that fits them to a T!

One of the reasons I got into recruitment advisory & counselling was that I've always loved helping people help themselves to a better life & a better job. If only there were more hours in a day & more days in a week. :) On a daily basis, its anywhere between 700 to 1200 emails that come to us asking for jobs, counselling, help & career restructuring, while I reply to as many as I can, time takes its toll & not each mail can be replied to. But I will take this blog as an initiative & a pseudo-template of things to do & to stay away from.

Industry experts & their comments (pls make the comments helpful not show offy) are very welcome, & professionals of all ages/backgrounds are welcome to visit my blog everyday.

Compassion isn't meant to be Conditional : Spirit & the Workplace

Spirituality & the Modern Day Professional:

Our Professional lives in their manner of unfolding are no different from our personal lives. There's planning, giving & taking, sharing & helping. The proverbial borrowing of a cup of sugar from a neighbour is so true when we borrow any kind of help from our professional associates/colleagues or contacts. Work with grace, charity & compassion, & it will come back to you. This rule doesn't just apply to your personal life, the workplace is tied to such laws too.

A very good ad I saw recently, reiterates this very fact, how helping someone is something that comes back to you. Abundance attaches itself to your life when you distribute it. Yes, it is sad some individuals resort to underhanded ways of hurting, sabotaging & defiling other people & their work, but please remember, without exception - This comes back to them too. So choose the higher purpose today, help someone if you really can, professionally & otherwise. If you think you are an exception & have done a lot for others at the workplace, while no one has done any good for you, think again.

Good luck for a new Financial year, 2013-2014,  make it a year of abundance of compassion & mutual co-operation at work & your profession.
